 C3NS0R5H1P: Is it Good or Not?

This blog has been a few days in the working, brainstorming ideas, working out how to start and wondering if this is even a good idea. But, just by not posting I would be censoring my opinion, something I am strongly against. 

The Good

Let's start off on a cheery note. Censorship does have its good side, it allows us to protect our children, filter out the unnecessarily negatively biased stuff such as racism and homophobia, preventing our children and loved ones from being biased into believing these horrible things.

It also can be helpful when preventing young children from seeing inappropriate content such as porn or drugs, helping to prevent any unhealthy habits from starting at a young age.

However, this good censorship needs to be monitored unless it could turn bad, which unfortunately has happened with our social media and news sources.

The Bad

There are many bad things about over censorship, such as preventing aid going to countries in need such as Palestine, which due to censorship is now rarely heard of and information about it can now be only found by searching "Watermelon" or through deceptive posts that break through the algorithm in platforms such as TikTok. 

This is a negative as it also reduces awareness about countries or groups that are committing war crimes, or generally are being hateful towards a group of people.

Another example of over censorship is the ICE raids in America. Protests in America against ICE are still occurring, however they are rarely heard of to find stuff about them search "Music Festivals" on any social media platform particularly TikTok. 

Again this results in a lack of awareness and therefore the people who have caused this not receiving the rightful charges they deserve, resulting in the people enforcing this to go on ruining innocent lives.

Over censorship is used frequently in dictator controlled countries to indoctrinate its people, famously it is used in North Korea and was used in Nazi Germany.
